How Long Does It Take For A Bridesmaid Dress To Come In?
Wondering how far in advance do I need my girls to order since they’ve been procrastinating? My wedding is May 17 2009. Do we still have time? Going to order a Jasmine B2 bridesmaid dress from a local bridal store.

I would get them in as soon as possible. Most of my girls’ dresses came in in about a 3 weeks but the one who procrastinated (sounds like a fable doesn’t it?) didn’t come in for almost three MONTHS!

There are several variables that will go into how long it will take your dresses to come in. Here are only a few.
1. Each company/vendor have different time frames. Usually 6-8 weeks.
2. How many dresses will be ordered.
3. if the dresses ordered are already available in the warehouse or if they have to make them new.
These are only a few od the things that can hold up the dresses coming in on time. You also have to take into account that someone may need time for alterations on their dress once they do arrive. your best bet is to speak with a sales associate at the store where you are ordering the dresses.

Usually it takes a couple weeks to a couple months to order bridesmaids’ dresses. Inquire at the local shop about that particular dress and manufacturer. They will have a good idea of how far in advance you need to order. Also, make sure to leave some extra time for fittings and alterations if needed.

I am a procrastinator but not when it comes to my wedding. I went to Alfred Angelo in January 2008 and it took 3 calls and 3 orders to just receive a swatch of the color I liked, which I got in May! That scared me so my girls ordered their dresses in August and September and we are getting married in April 2009. Alterations can be done, that is not a problem but why wait? Don’t freak out at the last minute when dresses don’t arrive, get them early. PS-all the dresses are already in, shocker it takes less time to make a full dress!

Usually 6 to 8 wks. But I would order as soon as possible, in case alterations are needed (which can take a up to 4 wks to complete!)
