Have A Great Summertime Wedding

Summer is prime wedding season. Couples often choose to take advantage of the beautiful summer weather by having an outdoor barn wedding or wedding in some other exterior site. When you know these helpful tips, it will be easy to create a beautiful outside wedding.

A top priority in planning an outdoor wedding is determining a Plan B for nasty weather. A primary weather concern in the summer months is blazing high temperatures. Your plans should include plenty of sunshade to keep your guests comfy. A tent, barn, or covered porch can all serve this purpose. In case of rain, be sure to have a tent or an inside place to hold your wedding. The best sites will have a great indoor space available just in case. Somtimes you might have to move your event offsite if rain threatens. Whatever the case, just be sure that you have a good back up plan in place.

It is fantastic when you incorporate seasonal elements into your wedding. Use plenty of fresh blossoms to decorate your wedding in a nature-inspired fashion. Loosely arranged centerpieces will look more natural outside than very sculpted floral pieces. Work with your florist to select blossoms that fit in with the style of your celebration. For a wonderful unique design, display mixed flowers in wooden vases. For a nice detail, you may wish to use summery fruits and veggies in your decorations as well.

To look good, you have to feel good, and that is doubly true on a hot summer afternoon. You will be most comfortable in a light dress that breathes. A breezy chiffon halter dress worn with delicate bridal jewelry would be ideal for a summer ceremony. Stay away from big heavy bridal gowns with tons of crinolines. For the men in the wedding, choose summertime semi-formal attire. A tan suit is one terrific option for the groom and his attendants. Another great look is navy blazers with khaki trousers. For a casual ceremony, the men can just wear pressed khakis and button down shirts with ties. They will certainly be more comfortable!

Plan your menu to reflect the season. It best not to serve heavy food in the summer. A light herbed chicken would be a better option than one smothered in a heavy sauce. There are so many wonderful fruits and veggies in season that you should really try to plan your menu around them. Consider starting the meal with a fresh salad of seasonal veggies. Treat your guests to a homemade sorbet after dinner. And keep the wedding cake equally light and seasonal, both in flavor and appearance. All of these little things will add up to a simply delightful summer wedding.
